Since the inception of The Cleaning Company in 2013, CEO Devora Jerkins has been committed to providing high-quality, competitively priced home and business cleaning services in Atlanta, GA. Devora was referred to us by client Edgar Mosley. Devora was working through their church to improve her business through their mentoring program. He warned us her budget was small but after hearing her story we wanted to help. Her goal with the company is to create a customized cleaning regimen for each client’s unique needs. With 25 + years of experience in the professional commercial cleaning industry, Devora motivates and focuses her staff on the science of cleaning, shared responsibility, integrity, respect, and team dedication to every project in order to formulate the perfect balance between the client and The Cleaning Company.
Devora had a simple template website lovingly made by her granddaughter but wanted something more updated and professional. She wanted her website to reflect the type of larger commercial clients she works with, knowing, in turn, it would help her gain larger contracts in the future. Devora also wanted the feel of the website to be happy and energetic and for the photos to represent The Cleaning Company as a black-owned business.
Devora let us know up front that she was not a writer and is not tech-savvy. So we asked lots of questions to carefully craft the site’s content so that it’s her voice. We highlighted what makes her company unique and focused on her target markets and services. We established a fun tone in the initial hero section at the top of the home page by using a looped video of an employee spraying and cleaning a window facing the visitor. Thanks to some small business grants she acquired, she was awarded money to work with a specific company on a new, more contemporary logo that gave us a jumping point for the site’s design. We began by complementing the logo design, a bubble, with a creative animated bubble graphic that pops throughout the website. She loved the idea of graphic movement throughout the website to keep the audience who visited the website entertained and engaged. We incorporated other graphic movements throughout the website pages to keep the website visitor engaged and moving down each page through the use of movement in page sections and bubbles that would bounce into view when you moved from page to page or jiggle when hovered over them. We used colors associated with water; aqua, white, and blue as the primary colors throughout, along with a bright gold for accents, buttons, and typography.
